Project 715

Project 715 - A Wachau Wine Guide

Previous books published on Austrian wine have only ever touched on a maximum of 29 wineries in the Wachau - of which there are around 600. Furthermore, they have focused on a general overview of the country as a whole.

715 takes a deep dive into just one region - the Wachau.

Why is 715 different?

715 will be different from other wine guides. While it will function as a field guide and comment to the quality of the wines of the estates visited, there will be a greater focus on the people, expression, and winemaking decisions behind each estate. Delving deeper into the history and culture of this most singular region, special attention will also be given to each vineyard in the Wachau, helping wine fanatics and sommelier's alike be able to define why a Kellerberg Riesling might have more elgance, more tension than a crisp, mineralic Loibenberg Riesling.

Furthermore, Nikolaihof is the most famous South Bank winery, and oftentimes the only mentioned one. Did you know that there's a good sparkling producer not a five minute drive from Nikolaihof? This guide explores the wineries, the cultures and attitudes, and the different vineyards and terroirs of both banks, leaving nothing forgotten and elevating the Wachau in recorded literature.
